Providing access to healthcare in parts of the world where care is scarce has been Cuba’s most meaningful contribution to the world. The island has sent medical professionals to over 164 nations. 

In the wake of numerous failures to keep up to international avionic standards, Costa Rica is now faced with the prospect of lower safety ratings by the United States’ Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The Cuban Human Rights Observatory (OCDH), based in Madrid, has asked the European Union to suspend the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation with the Cuban government, due to the worsening political repression on the island, according to a statement.
