Senate Committee to Investigate University Malfeasance in Paraguay

Issue Jun 10-16 2026: A special Senate committee has been convened in Paraguay to analyze the issuance, commercialization, and use of higher education diplomas and degrees in the country. The committee, formed in the wake of a scandal involving the issuance of allegedly false degrees at the South American University in Asunción, will initiate a series of meetings with accreditation entities and representatives from universities throughout the country.
