Within the past decade, there has been a rise in the discussion and inclusion of LGBT individuals in the western world. And it is that “T” for transgendered individuals that has seen the greatest increase in recognition and rights as well as the greatest pushback and slander during this same period. Despite strives for equality in many areas of life as well as widespread awareness through cultural and artistic projects, the largest country on the continent, Brazil, has also seen some of the biggest pushback by the current political administration of Jair Bolsonaro.
