Issue Jan 01-07 2025: In the first week of January 2025, Edmundo González Urrutia, standard-bearer of the Venezuelan opposition coalition Plataforma Unitaria Democrática (PUD), traveled the region to demonstrate international solidarity for his claim to the Venezuelan presidency. On July 28, 2024, he competed in the presidential election against the current Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro,
