A new report on gender discrimination in Chile entitled “Diverse Chile: Instituting Equality” has been released by that country’s Center for Public Space Studies. In the document, one of the Center’s directors, Pablo Simonetti, argues that the public sector needs a new institution to formulate and promote a national policy on equality and non-discrimination.

According to a report issued by the Inter-American Bank of Development entitled “Emerging Voice: Perceptions on the quality of Life in Latin America and the Caribbean,” the efficiency of public transportation ranked fifth on the list of most important concerns voiced by residents throughout the region.

During the first half of 2016, authorities detected 9,377 irregular migrants inside Colombian territory.  The number is growing with each passing year: in 2015, only 8,855 were detected.
