Issue Aug 12-18 2026: During a meeting of Panama’s National Assembly on August 19, deputy Robert Zuñiga warned that the People’s Republic of China has yet to formalize the renewal of the Agreement on Maritime Transport, as they agreed to do last July. According to the parliamentarian, the Asian country is preparing to retaliate against Panama after its Panama Ports Company concession was revoked earlier this year.
