Issue Aug 12-18 2026: As Merlyn Casanova, executive director of the Ecuador’s National Association of Cacao Producers (Anecacao), recently mused, “We want to go from being recognized for what we provide to being recognized for what we represent.” Indeed, with the launch of the brand “Ecuadorian Cacao” under the slogan “the best in the world, naturally,” cacao producers in the South American country hope to position their product as among the most prestigious and globally sought-after cacao  on the globe.
