The National Institution of Human Rights in Uruguay (INDDHH) released a statement condemning the comments of the current president of the Military Center, Carlos Silva Valiente, which do not “contribute to the construction of a democratic society, the only State model that guarantees peaceful coexistence and the free exercise of rights.”
