The business pyramid continues to reflect the inequality gaps. In El Salvador specifically, at the base of the structure 64% of micro and small companies are led by women, 28% lead medium-sized businesses, and only 8% of the large companies are headed by women. While these entrepreneurs face inequality gaps in the business world, they are emerging as a key element of economic growth.
