Uruguayan NGOs Sue to Stop Offshore Oil Exploration

Issue Feb 18-24 2026: As one NGO files a complaint with Uruguay’s Administrative Court and another makes an appeal over a rejected suit in the country’s civil court, Uruguay’s third shift court has rejected an injunction filed by that country’s National Human Rights Institution (Inddhh) aimed at halting offshore oil exploration in Uruguayan territorial waters.
