Issue Feb 25-Mar 03 2026: There has been much talk of late about the decline, loss of relevance, and even the end of multilateralism. Sparked by the disdain evinced by the Trump administration toward that form of international relations and the organisms that embody it, such as the UN, UNESCO, NATO, the WTO, and the WHO, and his preference for aggressive nationalism and unilateralism, observers fear that the world is fragmenting into a much more dangerous and unpredictable place.
