Issue Oct 29-Nov 04 2025: On July of 2024, Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada García, the historic leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, was kidnapped and given over to authorities in the United States by Joaquín Guzmán López, “El Chapo” Guzmán’s son, causing one of the oldest criminal organizations in the country to split into two factions, the Chapitos and the Mayiza, who are now at war over territories once ruled by the cartel.
