Experts say that men in our society are assumed to have the right to say whatever they want. Because of this assumption, some of their remarks to women are inappropriate and fall within the definition of harassment. “They are obscenities, they really are not compliments,” said a woman who was affected by street harassment. Some say these aggressions are a result of the way children are raised, and therefore, children have the potential to end the violence.
