New Law in Colombia Helps Trace Origin of Animal Products

Issue Jun 03-09 2026: Extensive, unregulated livestock farming is one of the main drivers of deforestation in Colombia. To ameliorate the problem and make the traceability of the meat that reaches consumers more efficient, the country’s government has passed Law 2585, the goal of which is to improve livestock tracking and reduce its environmental impact.
