In the province of Buenos Aires, the Peronista heartland, he did much better than predicted, while securing over 40% of the vote nationwide to become the strongest force in the Lower House of Congress after Dec. 10. Despite recent corruption scandals, Milei is now set to begin the second half of his term with substantially increased legislative support.
