Issue Feb 25-Mar 03 2026: A Mexican content creator who opened a taco restaurant in the Paraguayan city of Luque has been forced to close his business because of threats. Eduardo Garduño Gutierrez recorded one especially pivotal moment in which three young men threw stones at his business, El Arte del Taco, and damaged his motorcycle before uploading the video to his Instagram account.
As reported in Última Hora of Asunción, the Mexican restaurateur lamented the fact that he had to shutter his business, given his love for the country and high hopes for a future there. The owner of a YouTube channel called “The Art of the Nomad,” Garduño decided to settle in the Guaraní nation after traveling through several other countries and had planned to use proceeds from the restaurant to help other budding entrepreneurs in the area.
Appearing on a local radio station, he expressed deep regret about the closure, especially since it involved putting his employees out of work. “The kids who were working with me,” he said, “are out of a job. An entire system collapses this way. It’s really hard. We were together for two weeks and sadly we had to close. I’m going to take a few days to think about what to do.”
