Male Candidates Outnumber Women in Ecuador’s 2017 Elections

As Ecuador prepares for its upcoming 2017 elections, preliminary data indicates a six-point difference amongst registered men and women. There are 3,793 candidates set to run in the election. Of them, 53.4% are men and 46.6% are women.
