The Mexican Senate has approved a proposal which includes a two-year extension for the term of Arturo Zaldívar, the president of Mexico’s Supreme Court. After its approval, many were left feeling outraged and concerned due to the unconstitutional nature of this decision and the unequal balances of power it may cause within the Mexican federal government if it is also approved by the House of Representatives.
