LGBT+ Film Festival in Mexico Creates Space for Taboo Subjects to be Explored

Issue May 20-26 2026: Because of a dearth in LGBT+ cinematic representation in Mexico, filmmakers in the country have created events such as ALT, the LGBT+ Documentary Film Festival, by which to open up spaces to tell stories about that community. The event kicked off last week in Mexico City with a series of films, including the headliner “En el camino,” by director David Pablos.
