Lesbia Urquía, Another Journalist Killed in Honduras

The death toll of activists and journalists in Honduras continues to climb after the apparent murder of Lesbia Urquía, an environmentalist who was believed to be associated with the organization called Consejo Cívico de Organizaciones Populares e Indígenas de Honduras (COPINH) which works to defend the civil rights of Lenca people. This most recent notable death comes several months after the co-founder and coordinator of COPINH, Berta Cáceres, was also assassinated in La Esperanza, Honduras. Investigations into these crimes are ongoing but the public is turning to the government for answers.
