On June 24, 2019, four leaders of the housing movements of São Paulo, Ednalva Silva Franco Pereira and Angélica dos Santos Lima from the Housing Movement for All, and Sidney Ferreira Silva and Janice Ferreira Silva (known as Preta Ferreira), of the Movement for the Homeless of the Center (MSTC) were arrested for suspected criminal association and extortion, for collecting “rents” between R $ 200 and R $ 400 in the positions they coordinate.
