Guatemala Expects Trade Agreement with the United States to Be Ratified in 30 Days

Issue Jan 28-Feb 03 2026: Now that Guatemala has signed a new reciprocal trade agreement with the United States, it must undergo a multi-institutional review and gain subsequent presidential approval, according to that country’s Minister of the Economy, Gabriela García. Signed on January 30 of this year, the agreement reduces to zero U.S. tariffs on 3,504 Guatemalan exports and includes a series of commitments made by Guatemala.
