As the pandemic caused by COVID-19 has raged around the world, most people have had to seek shelter and quarantine in their homes for extended periods of time. However, for many women in Latin America, the home is not always a place of refuge. In Ecuador, as social distancing regulations increased and more people were ordered to stay at home, many women were not able to come forward and report abuse, emphasizing the need for safer means of reporting situations of domestic abuse.
