From Total Peace to Total War in Colombia

Issue Jan 07-13 2026: Last year was not good for peace in Colombia. While the Petro administration plans to hold new negotiations, including round table talks with ex-commanders of the AUC, the public remains skeptical. According to a recent poll, 65% of those surveyed said that they believed the total peace plan was going poorly and 75% said that the state and the national armed forces have lost control of territories where armed groups are currently operating.
