Basilio Núñez, Paraguay’s recently reelected President of the National Congress and Senate, approved a list of senators, all from the Honor Colorado bloc, to join a friendship commission with the United States. Senator Antonio Barrios prepared the slate which Núñez passed, and Senator Lilian Samaniego, who had expressed interest in leading the commission, was omitted from its membership.
