European Union Updates Tax Haven List: Costa Rica Removed, Belize Added

Issue Oct 11-17 2023: The European Union (EU) has updated its tax haven list, removing Costa Rica, the British Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands. Costa Rica was taken off the list after implementing amendments addressing the “harmful aspects of its exemption regime on foreign-sourced income,” as stated by the European Commission, the executive arm of the EU.
