Dirty Wars Past and Present in Mexico

The Attorney General’s office says the 43 normalistas in Iguala, Guerrero were killed and then their bodies were incinerated.  Yet the parents of the victims reject the official version, and say that they will not allow the government to close the investigation.  The parents, by the way, are now in dire financial straits.  President Enrique Peña Nieto says there must be punishment for those who were responsible for these unfortunate events, but he also wants Mexicans to change the subject and think about “a better future.”  Finally, declassified documents flesh out the dirty war in Guerrero in the 1970s, but action has yet to be taken.
