Cuban Officials Blame United States for Virus Outbreak

Issue Oct 08-14 2025: Officials in Cuba have claimed that the United States is behind the chikungunya virus outbreak on the island. After days circulating on blogs and in media aligned to a greater or lesser degree with the Cuban regime, the state newspaper 5 de Septiembre has published an article by political analyst Arthur González insinuating that the epidemic did not originate by chance, but rather is part of the United States’ “biological war” against the island nation.
