COVID-19 Will Result in 29 Million Newly Poor

The NGO Action Against Hunger says that the COVID-19 pandemic will leave an additional 29 million people in poverty. COVID-19 has already caused unemployment rates to increase by at least 11%, according to a report by the Economic Commission of Latin America and the Caribbean.
