Costa Rica Building a Prison Based on Salvadoran Model

Issue Oct 15-21 2025: The government of Costa Rica has announced that it aims to finish construction on a new prison in June of 2026. The prison, modeled upon CECOT, the notorious high-security prison built by Salvador President Nayib Bukele, will have space for up to 5,100 inmates.
