Colombian Economy Expands During First Quarter of 2026

Issue May 13-19 2026: According to a new analysis from Alejandro Reyes, senior economist at BBVA Research for Colombia, the South American country’s economy experienced economic growth of 2.2% in the first quarter of 2026, a figure almost identical to that seen at the end of 2025, when its GDP grew by 2.1% in spite of predictions that it was to drop by nearly 2.3%.
