Colombia Slaps 30% Tariff on Ecuador and Temporarily Suspends Energy Sales

Issue Jan 14-20 2026: The Colombian government has announced that it will be imposing a 30% tariff on a score of still unspecified Ecuadorian products in retaliation for a similar measure undertaken by Ecuador. Colombia is also suspending the sale of electricity to its southern neighbor.
