Thanks to a maneuver “articulated by politicians beyond those involved with businessmen in the sector” in January of this 2021, the Canadian company Cabral Gold was granted the right to extract up to 100,000 tons of gold annually in a forested area in southeastern Pará – even before having the environmental license and the definitive mining concession on the site.
