Issue Nov 15-30 2023: At the same time as the president of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies Arthur Lira (PP-AL) championed a “green agenda,” the Chamber itself approved the fast tracking of legislation which includes provisions benefiting the operation of thermoelectric power plants powered by natural gas, which contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.
