Brazil Passes New Labor Reform
–Researched and written by Jessica Marques—
Brazil’s President Michel Temer sanctioned a labor reform without any vetoes on July 11. The Planalto, where the President’s office is located, asked the Senators to approve the text without modifications so as not to delay the bill, and Temer agreed to veto controversial points that would later be corrected by an interim measure. The measure has not been revised yet, put plans are underway for the coming weeks. The bill has been quite controversial, receiving mixed reactions from both the Brazilian public and among political parties.
