At just 40 km north of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, the American-owned Rosario Mining Company operated to extract deposits of gold and silver between the years of 1880 and 1954. Rosario Mining Company extracted 6.5 million tons of mineral valued at 100 million dollars during those 74 years of operation.
