Argentine Police Brutality in Repressing Protests

Seventeen people were injured by rubber bullets and tear gas last Friday, the result of a fierce police repression of La Plata, Buenos Aires, against dozens of fired workers. Four of the injured were hospitalized, including a woman who was shot eight times in the back. The workers demanded to speak with the supervisor Julio Garro, who ordered the police action.
