Issue Jan 21-27 2026: After reports of slave labor reached a record high in 2025, the Ministério do Trabalho e Emprego (MTE) was preparing for the National Day Against Slave Labor, on January 28, amidst a strike by labor inspectors that had suspended rescue operations since the beginning of December 2025,  and continues with no end date in sight.
