Issue Oct 01-07 2025: Agriculture producers in the Dominican Republic’s province of San José de Ocoa are being negatively impacted by the lack of a market to sell their goods as well as by insect infestations. As Raúl Mariñez, agricultural technician and director of the DR’s Department of Production in Protected Environments (Deprobap), explained that production in the region is also down due to its shortage of greenhouses, the number of which is barely half the national average.
