Musician Nicolás Ibarburu Continues to Shape Uruguayan Culture

Issue Jun 01-11 2025: Nicolás Ibarburu’s house is full of guitars, and the walls are full of acoustic panels. Next to the bed, there are half a dozen guitars lined up. At the other end of his room, there is a desk with a microphone condenser and two big monitors. His house is a comfortable studio where he records a great part of his current music. Ibarburu has very recently released his fourth solo album, “La Ruta de la Seda.” Performing his latest album this past Saturday, June 14th, he invited various featured artists, including his son Valentín Ibarburu. The album is a profound reverence for all his present and past inspirations.
