Issue Apr 02-May 31 2025: While it is unclear how many people inside Cuba support US congressman Carlos Gimenez’s petition to the Trump administration to suspend remittances to the island nation, it is clear that such a measure would cut off one the more important sources of currency to the Castro dictatorship at an especially precarious moment in the country’s history, and that it would mean more pain and hardship for ordinary Cuban families.
