While the Piñera government has not been prone to extradite its citizens, military personnel Colonel Rafael Ahumada Valderrama, Warrant Officer Orlando Moreno Vásquez, and Brigadier General Manuel Vásquez Chauan were sentenced to life for the disappearance and death of two Chilean citizens of Italian origin, Juan José Montiglio and Omar Venturelli.
