EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström and Mercosur’s representative, Uruguayan Foreign Minister Rodolfo Nin Novoa, made the handoff in Brussels. 

After a meeting between representatives from Costa Rica and Vatican City, the government of Costa Rican President Luis Guillermo Solís has decided to table negotiations for a papal concordat for the time being.

On May 13th the postal service of Nicaragua announced to the public that clients were once again able to send mail internationally, but the lack of communication as to what caused the two-month absence of service has left customers angry and expecting a response from the organization.
