The Colombian department of Quindío has reported increased sexual abuse of victims under 14 years of age while Cartagena and Medellín have become “huge brothels”; crimes against women have spiked in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.    

Corruption and tax evasion are violations of human rights in Latin America, where they contribute to inequality and injustice in the countries of the region, according to recent studies. 

The Bolivian government linked the achievement in diminishing poverty to the question of human rights at the United Nations. 

The inability of graduates in finding work related to their studies is driven by a lack of opportunities in the labor sector, said the rector of the Instituto Tecnológico del Cibao (iteco), Esteban Tiburcio Gómez.
