Colombia was rated 140 of 141 countries regarding safety and security in a travel and tourism competitiveness report released by the World Economic Forum.

Amaszonas Airlines company, created in 2000, has grown in the region by taking over routes that other companies vacated and by serving non-traditional destinations.
